Projet de malade!!!!

Hi, welcome to my thread about my project. My name is Yannick B. and i'm 27 years old. I live in Québec, Canada and I've done this project during the 2010 winter. I'm not perfect in English so please be tolerant.

Some facts about my project..
1- This is not a race car
2- This is not a show car
3- This is my daily driver car
4- This is a low budget project
5- The final cost is 5300$ CAD including coffee and donuts!

I take the time to make this thread for you as a source of motivation or idea for your current or next project. If you have questions, please ask and I will be happy to answer you. Enjoy!

What can I do with a Honda that was never be done before?

Image
:whirly:

Image
1950$ CAD

Image
Some engine work had to be done...

Image
Running Subaru!

Image
The Subaru frame

Image
Simple as, Subaru = Blue and Civic = Red

Image
A picture is worth a thousands words

Image

Image
New rocker panel and ? (I don't know the word)

Image
The roll cage was necessary since the Honda is far less strength than the Subaru. I made it with 2x1 steel tubes, I had a good price and it’s the easiest way to fix all the inside trim since is flat and lower. The paint doesn’t look good because it was -10 Celsius when I done that. (14 Fahrenheit)

Image
I used the original location of the Subaru

Image
The orignal wheels of the Subaru was too bent to be repared. I buy these for 200$ with new tire.

Image
Without the flash and whit the flash...

Image
I was looking to use the Honda interior, but after some thinking the time needed to do it was not worth it.

Image
Front fender work begin!

Image
The angle is different

Image
So much fun!

Image
Not finished on this picture but you can see how much work the front fender was!

Image
So many things wrong with this picture… Find it!

Image
I decide not to pay for the paint shop because I don't care about the small imperfection... Since is satin black, they are hard to find and the car will be always dirty. I'm not a big fan of washing my car every day, if I wash it twice in the summer, I’m proud of myself… The paint is urethane with a flatening agent.

Image
Gap close up

Image
Almost there!

Image
Again, so many things wrong! Like my hitch for my mountain bike rack, the round thing, the exhaust which is the original Subaru because I don't want something to loud. I put an angle at the pipe because I like it! The windows are paint from the inside with urethane paint. Why? Because I wanted something dark and you can’t get darker than that!

Image
Windsheild on!

I'm now in the current progress of finishing my front bumper and the car needs an alignment. This week end it should be road ready! I was waiting to be near finish before posting anything here since some of you are very hard on people with build thread.

I will post the final pictures and a video before the end of the month.

Thanks for watching folks!
Yannick B.
